TRAINING: Home Performance
CBPCA HERS
Providership
CBPCA's Building Science Academy instructors have been trained to provide high-quality instruction on home performance and building science principles. our trainers follow the CBPCA Trainer Mission Statement.
Our mission is to introduce students to the large body of Building Performance principles while preparing them to acknowledge and overcome the existing mindset, impart knowledge and provide evidence-based solutions. We encourage students to be critical thinkers who focus on verifiable results rather than simulations by correctly analyzing each energy feature with a whole-house approach utilizing performance testing and continued data collection.
We emphasize the significant opportunities for energy savings and inspire students to apply acquired knowledge with the goal of attaining affordable comfort and a healthy living environment. We encourage students to strive to become experts in their region and to realize that the educational process of home performance is continuous. We empower field technicians by encouraging students to put testing equipment in the hands of the workers and to train them to verify the quality of their own installations. We consider that the information presented is often contradictory to that presented by multi-million dollar marketing campaigns and strive to present truthful and evidence-based information at all times.
