Member Benefits
Home Performance professionals are acknowledged to be at the top of the profession with skills and knowledge that set them above and apart from others in the industry. Most of our contractors find that as volume increases, so do their profit margins and cash flow. The typical Home Performance job averages $15,000 to $20,000 (and in some cases, reaches up to $70,000). Also, Home Performance work is great for the off season when you need to keep income up and employees busy — although the demand is pretty constant year-round. CBPCA Membership Categories June, 2009
Home Performance Contractors
Verified contractors will be known as Home Performance Contractors. These contractors provide Home Performance services to homeowners, agree to third party verification of their work and participate in utility incentive programs. Benefits of Home Performance Contractors:
- Participation in the Home Performance with Energy Star (HPwES) program
- Use of the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® (HPwES) logo and name and the CBPCA logo in marketing materials, signage, business cards, or any other materials
- Receive prominent placement on the CBPCA website. The website posting will explain that Home Performance with Energy Star Contractors actively participate in our quality assurance verification program.
- BPI Certified and Accredited Contractors will receive a special designation
- First in line to receive homeowner referrals
- Eligible to participate in Utility Incentive programs
- Receive newsletter and email notifications
- First in line to fill training positions / slots
- Participation in the Yahoo group
- Invitation to special events & quarterly meetings
- Receive CBPCA support to get additional training through (paid) mentoring and advanced courses, networking, getting a B license, other jump-start support for those new to home performance
Requirements of Home Performance Contractors:
- Must have completed at least Level I & II of the Home Performance training
- Must submit jobs data quarterly and 5% of their jobs must be verified
- Annual fee is $350. Contractor will receive one free verification for the first year
- If they have missed submitting jobs data for two consecutive quarters or take more than two months to fulfill a verification request, their membership will revert to the Associate level with the attendant benefits and requirements
- Must submit a Membership Application and a signed Participation Agreement
CBPCA Professional
These are professionals trained by the CBPCA who help promote, support, and/or advance the Home Performance industry in California.
Benefits of the CBPCA Professional:
- Will be given homeowner referrals
- Allowed to use the CBPCA logo
- Receive newsletter and email notifications
- Preference to fill training positions / slots
- Participation in the Yahoo group
- Invitation to special events & quarterly meetings
- Receive CBPCA support for getting additional training through (paid) mentoring and advanced courses, networking, assistance with applying for a B license, and other jump-start support for those new to home performance
Requirements of the CBPCA Professional:
- Must have completed at least Level I of the Home Performance training
- Must submit a Membership Application
- Annual membership is $200
CBPCA Associate
For individuals interested in CBPCA activities who want to stay informed about upcoming classes, events, and other news related to the Home Performance industry.
Benefits of the CBPCA Associate:
- Receive newsletters and other announcements and notifications from CBPCA
- Receive invitations to special events & quarterly meetings
Requirements of the CBPCA Associate:
- Must complete at least Level I Home Performance training
- May NOT use the CBPCA or HPwES logos
- No annual dues and no application. Graduates of Home Performance Level 1 automatically become CBPCA Associates.
Marketing Benefits
In addition to teaching you how to diagnose and remediate a home, CBPCA assists in marketing this valuable new service to your past, existing, and future clients. CBPCA members receive a marketing kit containing various marketing materials that you can customize for promoting your business.
