Green Home Energy Upgrade Training

The Green Home Energy Upgrade training program concentrates on the "house as a system"— the interaction of the HVAC system, building envelope, and the rest of the house. CBPCA contractors are shown how to look at the whole house as a machine, where the performance of one component affects the performance of all the other components in the system.

A very important aspect of our program is that we also help you mobilze your business to offer these Green Home Energy Upgrade services.

CBPCA provides the necessary training for developing successful careers and profitable businesses in the building performance industry.  Building Performance contractors retrofit existing buildings for maximum energy savings, improved comfort, and better indoor air quality.   Our extensive curriculum in building science coursework will be offered in Fall 2009 throughout Northern and Southern California.  CBPCA courses are designed for remodelers, HVAC contractors, solar contractors, insulation contractors, or anybody with a serious interest in developing a business in whole-house energy efficiency retrofitting or remodeling.  CBPCA is the major California affiliate of the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and offers several BPI certification options.   
 
Graduates of our core Green Home Energy Upgrades courses are eligible for participation in our Home Performance with Energy Star program.  Benefits include referrals from motivated California home and business owners, eligibility for utility incentive programs, marketing materials, technical support, business development consulting, and networking opportunities..
