California Building Performance Contractors Association (CBPCA)
|
About the CBPCA and its goalsThe California Building Performance Contractors Association was formed in 2001 to transform the residential retrofit market and lead it toward fulfilling the goals of greater energy efficiency and improved health, safety, comfort, and durability. That is why we started the process of introducing "building performance contracting" to California’s millions of homes. This new kind of home improvement service identifies and provides what each home needs most for better energy efficiency, economy, air quality, structural soundness, long-term value, and the health, safety, and comfort of its occupants—all to meet the homeowner’s budget and in a single transaction with a specially qualified professional contractor. Training and EducationThe CBPCA trains and certifies those contractors, helps them adapt their business to this new service, and monitors the quality of their work. It also educates homeowners about the value of the service and helps them to find qualified building performance contractors. Title 24 ComplianceIn 2006, CBPCA was designated as one of only three organizations in California qualified to provide Home Energy Rating Services (HERS). Alone among the three, CBPCA offers contractors a new way to meet Title 24 requirements by providing Third Party Quality Control (TPQC) certification. CBPCA matches TPQC contractors and HERS raters in a seamless process that saves the contractor time and money while insuring that California homes meet the highest energy efficiency standards. All of CBPCA’s activities were designed to meet our stated goals for improving California housing stock through the use of the “home as a system" approach. |
